• More than 4,000 chemicals are used in a perfume but manufacturers never mention the name. They consider it "trade secret" and protect it from disclosure. Manufacturers hide all their countless chemicals behind the word FRAGRANCE.
• "No state, federal or global authorities is regulating the safety of fragrance chemicals
No state, federal or global authority even knows which fragrance chemicals appear in which products." Says Janet Nudelman, policy director for Breast Cancer Prevention Partners (BCPP) and co-founder of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.
• "When we took a harder look at beauty and personal care products we found that many chemicals of concern were hiding under the word ‘fragrance’,"said Nudelman.
• "There are chemicals in fragrances that do cause [cancer and reproductive effects], we know this from animal studies,” says Alexandra Scranton, director of Science and Research for Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE).
• May be you are thinking that many person use a lot of perfume did they really get cancer? Actually no one really knows this because they simply don't care.
• These cases are just for those perfumes which is prepared by using chemicals. Other fragrance prepared by organic materials like flowers are definitely not harmful. But in this era nothing is original not even a perfume.
• So, still using perfume or gifting it to your loved ones? Tohfa aisa do jo aapki yaad dilata rahe .... CANCER???? Think again!
