Scientific reason behind celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi
☆ Is it important to bring Ganesh Murti at home?
☆ is Ganpati even relevant in today's modern world ?
• We have a great celebration for Ganesh Chaturthi. But is there any reason behind this festival?
• Why we eat Modaks?
2. because they are healthy💪💪
Modak is not a food it is a superfood with two primary superpowers. Coconut and jaggery. Coconut is easy to digest .It Boosts Your metabolism increase good cholesterol and helps in flighting bacterias. Jaggery fights cold and flu. It detoxify your liver and activates digestive enzymes. The Secret over here is steaming. Steaming retains 90% antioxidants. It preserves nutritions like vitamin B and C ,potassium, phosphorus, zinc. Lord Ganesh brings all these good facts in sweetest packet of Modak to your home!
•Why do we bring Murti at home?
Because Ganesha purifiers are environment , literally! India is an agrarian society. So naturally our success and failure depends on nature. It relies on water bodies! If river water is clean and maintained at a level the whole village can live happily. In Early Times, Indian used to make idols with natural ingredients. Sometimes with special clay and sometimes with turmeric. An ideal made with clay dissolves in water. Everything is natural.... so pollution is zero. Turmeric is a natural disinfectant, plus some locals use a special clay which when dissolved in water attracts floating particles and settles at the bottom. Then the top layer remains clean. The whole village should contribute to this process, in a symbolic way everyone should contribute. that's the reason behind Visarjans!
• Do symbols have a meaning?
A great man once said "Gods speak to us through stories". But do these stories hold any truth? Ganesh is god of wisdom and intellect. The God with an elephant's head! Elephants are smart and is proven by science. Human brain has 86 billion neurons and an elephant's brain has 250 billion neurons. These numbers are new but this fact is old. Lord Ganesh loves Durva! Durva(Cynodon dactylon) is an invasive in nature , it can cover fertile land and deplete on nutrition. At the same time it's nutritious. So how can we distribute this task of removing Durva in all people. We have known this for a really long time. All life is the part of this world we are born from the elements of this planet and we dissolve in this once we are done! Humans and other living beings are no different. We are not above the environment we are a part of it. We come on one day , we leave on another just like everything else. Before Darwin our kids showed it to the rest of the world. The festival of India celebrate the power of nature.
• So Ganesh Chaturthi relevant today?
When it comes to traditions we have been taught since childhood that don't ask why. and that has become the biggest obstacle between us and progress.
Let's take this obstacle out of our way. if a small child ask you a question and you don't have an answer then don't consider that question insignificant. At least... try.
Ganesh is the god of intellect. Somebody who is always ready for a challenge so take it as a challenge. Try to understand your culture, traditions. Welcome the good stuff from that and say goodbye to the bad stuff. Because when we ask relevant questions we start understanding that this festival is a purification festival. Then whether the ideal should be eco friendly or not? Such questions are irrelevant . Don't you think?
We have to open our minds in this lockdown. we have to eat Modaks for how they taste and how good they are as well!! Along with a clean heart praying with clean hands is important! Because to go from blind faith to a well-informed faith asking some right question is necessary!
