•The company was incorporated on 29 December 1945 in Amalner, Maharashtra by Mohamed Premji as "Western India Palm Refined Oil Limited", later abbreviated to "Wipro".
•In 1966, after Mohamed Premji's death, his son AZIM PREMJI took over Wipro as its Chairman at the age of 21.He is currently the tenth richest person in India with an estimated net worth of US$7.2 billion as of October 2019. In 2013, he agreed to give away at least half of his wealth by signing THE GIVING PLEDGE Premji started with a $2.2 billion donation to the Azim Premji Foundation, focused on education in India. He even received Padma Bhushan in 2005.
